Fang Wang

Fan Wang is a doctoral student at the Professorship for Learning Sciences and Higher Education. She is enrolled in the ETH Zurich - EPFL Joint Doctoral Program in the Learning Sciences, having completed her Master’s degree in Physics at ETH Zurich in June 2023.

Her research is focused on exploring how to design effective embodied learning interventions and the role of emotions in learning, especially under challenging problem-solving contexts. She is working on a meta-analysis on the effectiveness of students' bodily engagement in embodied learning interventions, aiming at identifying the overall effect as well as effective design features based on empirical evidence. She is also designing an intervention to investigate how to leverage students' bodily prior knowledge to overcome confirmation bias in learning physics.

Fan is enthusiastic about teaching. Currently, she is working as a teaching assistant for the course "Introduction to Methods in Learning Sciences" which provides doctoral students from diverse academic backgrounds with a foundational understanding of research methods. Beyond her academic commitments, Fan actively contributes to a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education to vulnerable children, serving as both a volunteer teacher and a facilitator for teacher development.
