Dr. Nadja Beeler

worked at the ETH Professorship for Learning Sciences and Higher Education from September 2019 to November 2023. She conducted her doctoral project at the interface between learning sciences and medical education under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Manu Kapur (ETH Zurich) and Prof. Dr. Dr. Alexander A. Navarini (University Hospital Basel). In August 2023, she successfully defended her dissertation on visual learning in melanoma detection, graduating as a doctor of science (Dr. sc. ETH).

Before joining ETH, Nadja was hired at the School of Health Professionals, Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) from 2017 to 2019. During this time, she taught in the Bachelor's programme of health promotion and prevention and obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Higher and Professional Education. Previously, she worked as a scientific employee at the Swiss Federal Office of Sport (BASPO) from 2014 to 2017. Her research during this period focused on the measurement and the effects of physical activity during military service. Nadja’s professional career started with a scientific internship at Interface, a Swiss competence centre for evaluation, research and consultancy, from 2013 to 2014. She graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Exercise and Health Sciences at the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
